David is currently finishing L.A. Stories Vol. 1, his 5th album as a leader,  with Tenor saxophonist Doug Webb,
Joe Bagg
and Mark Ferber, as well as "Debits And Credits"... a "two guitar" project with guitarist John Chiodini.

David co-produced vocalist/guitarist
Diane Hubka's latest album "West Coast Strings" where he composed, arranged, produced and performed along with Anthony Wilson, John Pisano, Mimi Fox, Ron Eschete, Larry Koonse, Barry Zweig and Peter Sprague... the who's who of west coast jazz guitar.

Since arriving in Los Angeles, David has performed and recorded with an impressive range of prominent musicians including Howard Alden, John Pisano, Bruce Forman, Gerry Wiggins, Frank Strazzeri, Scott Colley,
Page Cavenaugh, Pete Christlieb, Carol Kaye, Earl Palmer, Pete Jolly, Sam Most, Doug Webb and many others.

David is included in Scott Yanow's book "The Great Jazz Guitarists"

David maintains a busy gigging, recording and teaching schedule and is the author of "Chord Connection"
and "Scale Connection" books in print since 1978, published by Hal Leonard. He is also the composer
of over 300 compositions.

First attracted to the Blues and Rock music of the 1960s in Seattle, Washington, his interest in jazz was gradual, evolving from Blues through Fusion and finally "Straight-Ahead Jazz." David first learned through the hard knocks
of a professional musician on the band stand and by listening, transcribing, analyzing  and performing the songs and solos of the great masters of Blues, Rock and Jazz.

At 16, David met the legendary Seattle guitarist Don Mock, who taught him harmony and the basics of jazz guitar.
He studied at Seattle Community College and the original Guitar Institute of Technology, now called MI,
or Musician's Institute, under Howard Roberts, Don Mock, Ron Eschete, Joe Diorio and Pat Martino.
